The real challenge in setting up this blog is that I tried to do it at work. Even though it was a relatively slow Friday morning, this blog was always in the “if I have time” category. I’m interested in keeping current with Library 2.0 trends and exploring 2.0 tools to enhance communication with our patrons, but feel that it has to be done on my own time. I’m always striving to keep up with the current literature for children and teens, but I don’t read novels at the reference desk or during office time – same for this. I don’t see any way around it. Even if this 2.0 learning is elevated to collection development status, I don’t have time to play around with this at work, unless it is specifically worked into the responsibilities of my job.
